Tall Blues

The vase is comprised of a transparent cobalt blue glass mixed with various opaque reds that were mixed, heated and placed over a clear glass bubble. Following multiple gathers of additional glass, and further heating and shaping, a large bubble is blown. The bubble is heated and the rod is swung, causing gravity to stretch and elongate the bubble, transforming it into long cylinder. The multi-colored red glass creates a unique design feature, transforming an ordinary blue vase into an extraordinary vessel.
