Standing Tall

In Standing Tall, the new World Trade Center in New York rises high in the sky as a symbol of the American Spirit,  perseverance, strength and hope. The skyscrapers of Manhattan and the giant ship in the Hudson river in the foreground represent the strengths of America. The painting was executed in a very direct manner with a large brush and semi-neutral colors. As my first port of entry, New York city represents America and remains my favorite city to draw from.
