Immersion

This watercolor is a synthesis of two elements that I have been looking to include in my work. First, the color combination of blues (Manganese, Indanthrene and Payne's Grey) with the contrasting Quinacridone Coral always makes me happy. The second element is the border which was inspired by the memory of a tiled wall which employed subtly changing blues to make a very calming pattern.  When put together I think of a very luxurious experience of gliding just beneath the surface of the water on a warm summer afternoon.
