On a County Road

I was driving around a few years ago on the back roads of Grayson County.  These were FM dirt roads where there was very little traffic if any at all.  I got out of my car and just relaxed.  It was a stunning vista of ominous clouds, drying Texas farmland, and old white posts with now unraveled barbed wire along with old telephone poles with just a few lines on them.  Compared to today's’ poles, these just held usually one or two electrical  lines and some, if any telephone lines.  I was taken in by the starkness and serenity of this place, a place that time seemed to forget.  It was a place I enjoyed being in, away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. A country time in a county that remembers what life used to be like back in the day.  Thus the title "ON A COUNTY ROAD"
