Behind the Fence, 2019
When I think of Americana work I tend to visualize rustic land, open fields and nature which inspired the painting, Behind the Fence. I have spent most of my life in suburbs seeing rows and rows of fences with clean cut yards. A few years ago I moved outside the city limits and began noticing the beauty and differences in the land. Wildflowers and bluebonnets now fill the space behind my home instead of the sea of fences. This work is how I portrayed the beauty of America behind the fences.
